We call this dry chutney powder as podi or dosha podi in our home. This idli podi recipe is made with roasted lentil and spices and very handy dish which you can serve with Idli, Dosa, Ada dosa, etc. Idli has occupied a very important place in Southern part of Tamilnadu. The softness of idli lies in the selection of rice and black gram (Ulunthu/Urad dhal).

Steps to make Pot idli with podi chicken:
  1. For idli:Mix all the ingredients together and soaked for 4 hours.Then blend it & keep aside for fermented.
  2. Make a mold with jackfruit leaf and poured the batter and steamed it for 20-25 minutes.
  3. You can use instant idli mixture also.
  4. For chicken: At first roasted all dry spices together. Then blended with onion, garlic and Ginger.
  5. Marinated the chicken with the masala & oil for 30 minutes.
  6. Then pour it into Baking tray & baked it into 180°c for 20-25 minutes Or pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
