The ingredients needed to make Chilli Potato:
  1. Prepare 2.5 cups potatoes (3 medium aloo)
  2. Prepare 2 tbsp corn starch / corn flour (or unbleached organic plain flo

  4. Get 1/3 cup oil or as needed
  5. Prepare 1-1.5 tbsp. garlic
  6. Prepare 1 medium sliced onion
  7. Make ready 1/2-3/4 cup capsicum / bell peppers
  8. Get 1 green chilli deseeded
  9. Make ready 1/2 tbsp. soya sauce (naturally brewed)
  10. Make ready 1.5 tsp red chilli sauce
  11. Take 1/2-3/4 tsp red chilli powder or paprika
  12. Get 1/2-3/4 tsp vinegar
  13. Make ready as needed Salt
Steps to make Chilli Potato:
  1. Peel potatoes and cut diagonally. Immerse them in salted water for 30 minutes. Parboil them and drain.
  2. Mix red chilli sauce with red chilli powder using little water. Make a thick paste. Set aside.
  3. Sprinkle flour, red chilli powder and salt. Toss well.
  4. Deep fry or grill until golden.
  5. Transfer the oil and keep little in the pan.
  6. Fry garlic and chilli until they smell good.
  7. Add onions and saute until transparent or pink.
  8. Add capsicums and saute for a while.
  9. Add the red chilli sauce, soya sauce and vinegar.
  10. Add little water and cook till it slightly thickens. To make gravy chilli potato, dissolve 3/4 tbsp corn starch with 3/4 cup water. Stir and pour to the pan.
  11. When the sauce thickens add fried potatoes and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Add spring onion greens.
  12. Serve chilli potatoes hot or warm as a starter or as a side.
