The ingredients needed to make Potato cheesey pie:
  1. Take 500 gms minced meat
  2. Take 2 cups mashed potatoes in butter
  3. Prepare 1 onion, garlic, capsicum, coriander, cubed carrots, green peas,
  4. Make ready 1 stick butter
  5. Prepare Ketchup, hot sauce, soy sauce, browning gravy
  6. Take 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
Instructions to make Potato cheesey pie:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease pan with butter and pour onions cut into rings. Fry till slightly browned then add in garlic, carrots & green peas. Stir and let cook for a few minutes then add in the minced meat. Stir to mix well then add hot sauce, browning gravy, soy sauce and pepper. You can add a pinch of salt to taste. Let simmer for 2 mins. Add in finely chopped capsicum and coriander. Stir & remove from fire.
  2. Grate your cheese and set aside 1/4 of it. Add the rest to hot buttered mashed potatoes and mix till well incorperated.
  3. In a suitable baking pan or casserole pour and level the minced meat to cover the base. Now spread evenly the potato over the meat mixture. Drag a fork over it to create a ragged uneven surface (this will help create a browning effect once baked)
  4. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the potatoes and (optional) garnish with nicely cut capsicum & some minced meat or use what suits you.
  5. Place in a preheated oven and bake for 15 to 18mins at 165°F
  6. Once ready, remove from oven and dig in immediately while hot!! (I served mine with mushroom soup…)So yummy!!
